Paul Jackson Pollock was born January 28th, 1912 in Cody Wyoming and died August 11th, 1956. He was 44. Somehow I think of him as having an influence later, and his work certainly did.
I am sure every painter has tried his "technique". It's very cool. Seeing his works in person is another treat. They have layers of razor sharp paint "lines", and patterns of movement. Clement Greenberg considered Pollock's work to be the best painting of its day and the culmination of the Western tradition via Cubism and Cezanne to Manet. Nice to have a critic like Clement Greenberg.
Here is my Jackson 3. BTW it's not as easy as it seems.
